A 50 word fiction by Rev. Cathian C. Maness:
Frozen ice crystals drifting down in syncopated rhythm, dropping silently, stacking one upon another on the frozen earth: some have landed on my eyelashes, nose and tongue, delighting me with bursts of tingling joy. Wondering if I should displace the carefully random flakes of snow, I allow myself to fall.
A prompted 50 word fiction entry from Trillian:
“Fortify yerself with this, lad!” Shaking with cold and fear, choking on the questionable brew, he was completely off guard when a rogue wave washed over the ship, carrying him with it into the briny deep. “Perhaps Mother was right,” he thought ”the sea was a poor career choice, indeed.”
yearbook is dead. there was very little repsonse this time around, perhaps because it required thought? effort? am i being unreasonable? i have to give credit to those few that did respond. they were thoughtful entries. however, to give away what we were planning on giving away, and to put in the amount of work that we were going to put into it, we didn't feel that it was justified by the effort put forth. feel free to post your submissions on your own blogs and we regret the decision and all of that.
Historical Character Poem will almost certainly be removed-I apologize to the person(s) who made submission(s) under this category. Believe me, there were hardly any entries. Like, one.
